Change color of dos screen

Whenever we run the cmd prmt. by default the color of the back-ground is black and the text getting typed is white....have u ever wished to change its color or Thought can the color be changed answer is Yes.

To Change DOS Screen's Background Color And The Text Color
1. Open your registry (press win+r and type regedit, hit enter)

2. Goto
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor]

3. u'll find "DefaultColor"You can replace it's value with a two-digit hexadecimal number, in which the first digit selects a background color and the second a foreground color.

The hexadecimal codes are:

Increase speed to open acrobat reader

Every Time I try to open Acrobat Reader it takes Hell a lot of time so here is a way to reduce the time taken to open
1. Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader(C:\program files\adobe\acrobat\reader\.. whatever)

2. Move all the files and folders from the "plugins" directory to the "Optional" directory. (I repeat.. cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste).

Also make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files).

Now your acrobat reader will load very fast and almost as good as notepad !!

Add folder to send to options

Many a times we require a FOLDER too often, like to store our Multimedia files and all !!!
No no need to access the folder and carry out the traditional COPY & PASTE !!!
Just add it too "SEND TO" !!!Do as follows :

**Open any FOLDER.**

In LIST of Advance Settings, click Show hidden files and folders !

Get rid of sending error report message

This error report sending message can become quite annoying at times, it keeps on bugging the user.

Lock any folder without using any software

1. Suppose you have a folder named abcd in D:\abcd.

2. In the same drive next to the folder create a new notepad file with the exact statementren abcd abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

3. Now save this text file as loc.bat

4. Create another notepad file and typeren abcd.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} abcd

5. Save this as key.bat

6. Now there are two batch files. Double click loc.bat and your folder will change into Control Panel and its contents cannot be viewed .

7. To open the folder double click key.bat and you get back your original folder.

8. For more safety keep the key.bat in another location .

Only for unlocking copy paste to the original location and double click(don't forget to replace abcd with the folder name)

FreeMem=Space(64000000)
3. and save it as RAMcleaner.vbs

Hiding drives

This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.

1. Go to start->run.

2. Type regedit. Now go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3. Now in the right pane create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives(it is case sensitive). Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal).

Now restart your computer. So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown(all gone...).

To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item that you created. Again restart your computer. You can now see all the drives again.

So if you too are Victim of same virus… Don’t worry Just follow these steps and you will get rid of this annoying virus

1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the processes tab
2. Look for svchost.exe under the image name. There will be many but look for the ones which have your username under the username
3. Press DEL to kill these files. It will give you a warning, Press Yes
4. Repeat for more svchost.exe files with your username and repeat. Do not kill svchost.exe with system, local service or network service!Sometimes it so happens that virus doesn’t allow even to open the task manager don’t worry just start your pc in safe mode and follow next steps
5. Now open My Computer
6. In the address bar, type C:\heap41a and press enter. It is a hidden folder, and is not visible by default.
7. Delete all the files here
8. Now go to Start --> Run and type Regedit
9. Go to the menu Edit --> Find
10. Type "heap41a" here and press enter. You will get something like this "[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt"
11. Select that and Press DEL. It will ask "Are you sure you wanna delete this value", click Yes
12. Now close the registry editor.Now the virus is gone. But be sure to delete the autorun.inf file and any folder whose name ends with .exe in the pen drive.
